Hello! My name is Charlene Smith and this my little spot on the ‘net’. I am a Christian woman that loves God and strives to become all He created me to be. I am married to a wonderful, faithful man and I have 3 beautiful children.
Back in my corporate days, I worked as a software designer, trainer and analyst. I left that world and came home to become a “Keeper of the Home” over 9 years ago. Last year, I began homeschooling my children. All the while I have run various offline and online businesses. I absolutely love working from home and the freedom it provides. Though I have never regretted leaving the corporate world, I can tell you that my current career is infinitely more challenging, exciting, and satisfying than I could have ever imagined.
Prayerfully, by sharing the challenges, lessons learned and the obstacles I have overcome, others will encouraged, comforted and inspired to be all that you were created to be.
Here 25 bits of trivia about myself:
1. I truly love God and desire to be a great witness of His love, compassion and faithfulness.
2. Never really wanted children, but I am so thankful for the goodness of God. When you allow the Lord to love on you, you have to share that love. A good man helps too!
3. I absolutely love baking sweets.
4. I demand truth even if it hurts me because I want friends that tell me the truth and expect the same of me.
5. I have a strong desire to make lots of money…not just for the sake of having it but to be able to be a blessing to others.
6. My dream vacation would be to visit Seychelles.
7. I love trying foods from different cultures. I will try most things at least once. Andrew Zimmern I am not, however.
8. I love competitive individual sports over team sports. Tennis is my sport of choice.
9. I am not into theory, I want things that work practically in my life. Christianity works for me.
10.Favorite sweet is anything that is chocolately, chewy or has almonds/peanuts or a combination of all three.
11. I am known for my Red Velvet cakes and cupcakes, Carrot Cake and cheesecakes.
12. Tend to have a low tolerance for lazy, mean or lying folks.
13. Studying to become a Christian life coach.
14. Absolutely love my husband who is my best friend and biggest fan. I’ve been blessed with the most attentive husband a woman could ask for. I love that he can always make me laugh even when I don’t want to.
15. I have high expectations of others but they pale in comparison to the ones I have of myself.
16. In search of what I like to do for fun or what makes me laugh out loud. I am way too serious and need to relax more.
17. I want to live the rest of my life experiencing everything my heart desires from learning to ski, to taking an Alaskan cruise to buying a house on the beach to helping others find their passions in life.
18. My heart’s desire is to raise children that love God, serve others, do what they love and make a difference in this world.
19. I love food tv, news shows, reality tv and comedies. I hate unrealistic action movies like Wanted.
20. I don’t like to dwell on the past. I like moving forward and making the best of what’s ahead.
21. I don’t like complainers. If you don’t like something, you have the ability to make changes in your life.
22. I am an identical twin.
23. I have been a software designer, software trainer,software developer, makeup artist, website designer, business analyst, esthetician, helpdesk support tech, distiributor for several network marketing companies and an internet marketer.
24. I look forward to growing older. I believe with age comes wisdom.
25. I am a true techie. I can’t live without my blackberry, digital camera, laptop that remote accesses my desktop, online billpay, cell phone, email or my internet access.
