What Kind of Fruit Are You Bearing?
It’s been a minute since my last post. The last couple of weeks have been interesting for me. I feel I am in the midst of a transition. Change is good but isn’t always comfortable. I am uncomfortable because I know I need to shift from my own understanding, logic and ideas and allow the Lord to lead and guide me. I know there are things and people that I must let go of in order to bear the proper fruit in my life. The kind of fruit that produces life.
Letting go is not particularly easy for me. I used to be a pack rat (calling those things that be not as though they were). I have stacks of magazines, old bills, notes on slips of paper, objects from years past that I will probably never use again. I won’t even mention all the stuff that is stored on my computer!
I always believed that it was good to keep things because you never know when you might need it again. Well, I have come to realize that if I have not even looked at some of these things in 3 years (the time I’ve been in my current house), then it is time to go. The clutter has to go!
The clutter in my head has to go as well. I want my mind to be free and clear. Free from the worry, the fear and mess from the past. No longer will I hold onto the memories of past hurts, unresolved issues and unmet needs. I want all the Father has for me and that means getting rid of the things that are hindering that from happening.
I know the solution. I must go back to the basics. The basics of spending time with the Father, prayer and fasting. Abiding in the Father. Why do we make things more difficult than they need to be? Why do we think we have progressed past the basics? These are the foundation upon which everything else in our life is built. This foundation produces the fruit:
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit
of itself unless it abides in the vine; neither can you,
unless you abide in me.” (John 15:4)
How about you? What kind of fruit have you been producing lately? Why not pray the following prayer so that God can begin producing the fruit He desires from your life?
Father God,
Please forgive me for trying to produce fruit from my own efforts, intelligence and ideas. No longer do I want to produce the works of the flesh. I now realize that real fruit is only produced from abiding in You. Help me to seek, wait on and rely on You only. Thank You for loving and forgiving me daily, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Charlene,
I can relate to this posting more than you know. I too am in a spiritual transition where I am learning to stay connected to the foundational basics of keeping myself decluttered and focused on God. It is vital for all believers to let go of those things that can distract us from not just keeping connected to Christ, but keep us from growing up in our walk with Christ. Thank you for sharing.
with blessings,

I am so glad that I popped through to read your latest post.
I am in the same mode as you…both decluttering my home and my spirit-soul. Taking the time to purposely focus in and hone in on what’s most important.
When I let my priorities get skewed, it always makes my life unproductive, even if I feel like I was getting “good” things done. If it’s truly “good” then it will be God-led, and He’d never lead me to misplace my priorities: God> Husband> Kids> Business/Ministry> Friends
Thanks for sharing!

Hi Charlene this is a great site. You are truly in the lane God has called you to from your mother’s womb. You make me judge myself and want to hear from God on His direction for my life.
Thanks

Thanks for visiting and sharing. At least we can’t say this journey isn’t interesting. What is so wonderful is that even through the distractions and detours, God is always there waiting for us. It’s good to know that he will never allow us to get too far off track before lovingly directing us back to Him.

Hey, lady! Always glad to see you stop by. What does Joyce Meyer ask, “Are you busy or are you fruitful?” I realize that a lot of times I am busy and not the other way around. I realize now that Jesus didn’t help everyone and He was involved in everything everyone else thought He should be doing. Who am I to think I should be any different? My new goal is to be ever fruitful.
@Brenda
Praise God! His direction is right before you. Sometimes we just need to slow down so we can see the “writing on the wall”. Thank you so much for visiting, it means more than you know!
